Renee Woods’ silhouette is also in the show. She was from Fishtoft. Renee died at RAF Waddington in 1941. Suraya Marshall assists in showing the silhouettes.
Nicky van der Drift directs the IBCC. She stated the exhibit is about recognition, remembrance, and reconciliation. They honor women’s vital role in protecting our freedoms.
The exhibition opened last Friday with an all-female RAF flypast. Aircraft came from RAF Cranwell, RAF Brize Norton, and RAF Coningsby.
The Modern Giants group was present. These are female leaders from the UK making big contributions. The group helped create the silhouettes and officially unveiled them.
Nicky expressed their thanks to those who helped create the silhouettes and for the installation. She said the day was unforgettable.
